For his first solo outing in nine years, “Love Is” splits its efforts between five instrumental and five vocal songs, the common denominator being Dylan Howe on drums and Steve on everything else.
Five years in the making, TIME sees Steve playing new music with a classical ensemble and bringing a fresh approach to works by Bach, Vivaldi and Villa Lobos. The music deftly weaves haunting melodies with lush pastoral arrangements and is Steve’s first album without drums.

31 de jul. de 2020 · Love Is A River, the keynote track on Steve Howe’s first solo album since 2011’s Time, never quite does what you expect it to from one moment to the next. There are lovely hooks and melodies and refrains in there, but the structure of this six-minute song resists, at all points, doing what any songwriting craftsman’s textbook would.
