Godzilla (1998) vs. Godzilla (2014): A better future for Hollywood remakes? Following on my review of King Kong (1933), why not take a look at the equally popular and iconic Godzilla? Rather than a review of any singular film in the Godzilla series, I'll be looking at both the 1998 and 2014 remakes of the original Godzilla film from 1954.

12 de oct. de 2021 · TL;DR: Godzilla 2014 no contest. G98 sucked both as a Godzilla film and as a movie in general. G98 is fun in a "so bad it's good" kind of way, but G2014 was an actually well made film.
20 de ene. de 2021 · As the backstory of the monster was massively sidelined by the 1998 disaster movie, the 2014 version spends a lot of time and takes a lot of care in detailing Godzilla’s history. Not only that, but there are some subtle details that are nods to the original lore of the creature too.
