Traditional Ethio Jazz, the great Stevie Wonder, and his parents favorites were all mixed up and strewn together; each uniquely informing and penetrating his mind with a diverse soundscape from an early age.
Jazz trombonist, Beserat Tafesse grew up with a wide array of musical and cultural influences, including traditional Ethiopian jazz. His work includes the Grammy nominated album Art of the Arrangement by Doug Beavers, one of many projects he gladly lent his horn playing to.

Tafesse’s sound is strong, melody-based, and best understood when playing longer tones with a full spectrum of light. His rapid passages lean more towards bebop saxophone than a more traditional path blazed by the great J.J. Johnson.
