Freaks and Geeks is an American teen comedy-drama TV series, with one Season that was broadcasted in 1999/2000 on NBC. The show was cancelled after only 12 episodes had aired, six further episodes that had already been produced, were aired later.

The characters of the Freaks and Geeks TV series are the fictional people, whose experiences are shown in the 18 episodes of the show. They are portrayed by the cast members. Depending on their importance for the show, they are divided into three different groups.
Samuel Harold "Sam" Weir is a 14-year-old boy in 9th grade at McKinley High School. He is portrayed by John Francis Daley. Sam seems to act as the leader of the Geeks, and seems to be the least socially inept of the group.
Freaks and Geeks has only one season, consisting of 18 episodes (each with a duration of about 45 minutes). Each episode starts with a short opening scene, followed by the opening credits. Thereafter, the story of the corresponding episode develops.
