A sequel, Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, followed in 2003, as well as the 2009 Legally Blondes spinoff. However, there is a plan to continue the original movie series.

Reese Witherspoon, who starred in the two feature films, will produce the series through her Hello Sunshine production company, alongside Lauren Neustadter, Lauren Kisilevsky and producer of the original films Marc Platt.
