The script is meta-clever and there’s some decent gore, but overall it lacks emotional empathy for the characters. More of a knowing film satire rather than being proper scary. Mark: 6.5 out of 11.

Director David Bruckner truly knows how to set the scene, creating nail-biting tension using the eerie Swedish woodland setting (actually filmed in Romania).
