Lisgar Collegiate Institute is a secondary school with a tradition of excellence in academics, arts, and athletics. It offers the Gifted Program, the International AP Program, and the AP Capstone Program for students in grades 9 to 12.
It is the oldest secondary school in Ottawa and possibly Ontario. It was named after a former Governor General of Canada. It was established in 1874 and has been formerly known as the Ottawa Collegiate Institute and the Dalhousie District Grammar School. It celebrated its 160th anniversary in 2004.
