Raphael Saadiq (⫽ s ə ˈ d iː k ⫽; born Charles Ray Wiggins; May 14, 1966) is an American singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and record producer. He rose to fame as a member of the multiplatinum group Tony!
Born Charlie Ray Wiggins in Oakland, California, in 1966, Saadiq was a self‑taught multi‑instrumentalist by the age of six, playing guitar, bass and drums, with the bass already his instrument of choice.
