John Mayhew (27 de marzo de 1947 - 26 de marzo de 2009) fue el tercer baterista (percusión, voces) de la banda de rock progresivo Genesis, entre septiembre de 1969 y julio de 1970. Reemplazó al anterior baterista John Silver en agosto de 1969.
John Mayhew (27 March 1947 – 26 March 2009) was an English musician, best known for his brief tenure as the drummer of the progressive rock band Genesis. He replaced the band's previous drummer, John Silver, in August 1969, and was himself replaced in August 1970 by Phil Collins.
Inicios: 1967-1969. El nombre del grupo, dado por Jonathan King, alude al Génesis (primer libro de la Biblia). Al principio se llamaban From Genesis to Revelation, como su primer disco, debido a que en Estados Unidos existía un grupo llamado Genesis.
