  1. Hace 1 día · Predicting the gas-surface interactions of solid carbon is necessary for the design of many engineering systems that employ graphite. Experimental determination of the reaction rates improves the fidelity of those predictions. Here, we studied oxidation and nitridation of graphite by thermal and nonthermal plasma assisted processes. Experiments were conducted at a pressure of 2 kPa, higher ...

  2. Hace 3 días · Before delving into the types of gases used, it’s important to understand the basic working principle of a plasma cutter. Plasma cutting involves creating an electrical channel of superheated, electrically ionized gas, known as plasma. This plasma transfers energy from a power supply to any conductive material, effectively cutting through it.

  3. Hace 3 días · These results indicate that oxygen/nitrogen plasma treatment yields superior mechanical properties to oxygen/argon treatment. The accumulated acoustic emission energy in the multi-axial structure reinforced glass fiber composites subjected to oxygen/nitrogen and oxygen/argon treatments was 25.49% and 62.39% lower than untreated samples, respectively.

  4. Hace 1 día · PE conversion by argon and air plasma. The effectiveness of CO 2 plasma for converting PE was also compared by replacing CO 2 with argon or air gas in the same plasma reactor and condition of case B. Complete conversion of PE took 45 min with argon plasma or 15 min with air plasma, producing 69.0% or 112.9% of liquids (Fig. S4 and S5† for time-resolved product yields and liquid composition).

  5. Hace 5 días · It is demonstrated that, following identical CAP treatments, 4Y-PSZ is more effective in promoting HGFs adhesion compared to traditional 3Y-ZTP zirconia. The objective of this study was to explore the effects of cold atmospheric plasma (CAP) treatment on the biological behavior of human gingival fibroblasts (HGFs) cultured on the surface of high-transparency zirconia. Two types of zirconia, 3Y ...
