After the enormous success of 1970’s Déjà Vu album the four-piece supergroup had split at the top of their game, and each member had tasted solo success since, particularly Neil Young, with 1972’s huge-selling Harvest.

I first met David Crosby and Stephen Stills when I was a musician, before I picked up a camera. Graham, I first met in 1966, the year I first had a camera. Stephen had a house up in Laurel Canyon where they would rehearse, hang out and swim in the pool.

That's why it's fun to see performers from either side of the divide coming together to perform and knocking it out of the park. Tom Jones and Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young just did that with a performance of "Long Time Gone."
