You're describing many things and you want to give extra attention to the main issue. I wouldn't quite understand "will you highlight the matter," because I'm not sure what you would be giving extra attention to.

Metaphorically, a highlight is a point of exceptional merit. "The highlight of the show was when Pavarotti sang Nessun Dorma." A spotlight in a theater is as I described it earlier.

However, if there were two keynote addresses, it stands to reason that there were two highlights. Changing the background colour is just one of them, but you can also change the text colour (I would also call this highlighting in blue), make it bold, italicize it, or underline it. Or you can MAKE IT ALL CAPITALS or change text size. All of those are highlighting methods.

By "hit the highlight," I think he means "put some additional white paint on the highlight."

  10. 15 de jun. de 2022 · Highlight is very similar in meaning, but is used slightly differently – perhaps mainly in retrospect, when looking back over an event (as suggested in the OP example). However, they’re more or less interchangable. It’s a matter of choice.
