I am currently working on a remake of EarthBound (in the style of MOTHER 3/fan-made MOTHER 4). I have thought about creating this remake for years now and glad I’m finally acting on it. I first played EarthBound almost 12 years ago and was completely floored; it was the type of game that I had never experienced before.

jeffman made a 100% complete translation of Mother 2 (more like he ported EarthBound) for 1+2. Patch a clean rom of 1+2 with mato’s Mother 1 translation and then patch THAT with jeffman’s EarthBound translation to have both translations in the game.
I’m such a nice guy that I decided to find most (if not all) the cheat codes from Mother 2. I already found a good number of them. Check it out. There are Game Genie, Action-Replay (I think), and a bunch of other types of codes. I will be updating the list often so be on the lookout!
“Mother’s Day” is what it’s called in the original Mother (and Tomato’s English translation of Mother 1+2, which I’m assuming this uses). “Podunk” is what it’s called in EB0. Personally, I think the EB0 names sound more like towns (“Mother’s Day” sounds kind of stupid) but the holiday-themed names are what the original Japanese game used.

Mother was one of the first games to use that perspective, and dumping that aspect just to be “in the style of Mother 3” is blasphemy to the original game. I’m pretty sure that Mother 3 didn’t have the isometric view because: A) Brownie Brown was lazy B) Mother 3 is much more scene-based and linear than it’s predecessors.
So this hack is mainly 3 things: a total re-balancing of the game in terms of difficulty and costs of items and PSI, a massive text edit back to the Mother 2 original stuff (where it works), and recently thanks to Coil Snake a visual overhaul of all Battle sprites, some backgrounds, and some over world sprites.
This is the topic for Mother 3 Cheat Codes. These allow you to do more with Mother 3 like accessing the debug room, finding unused enemies, etc. As a surprise for everyone I looked up any cheat codes for the kindness stat and I actually found one. It only edits the stat, it doesn’t make it appear in the status menu.
