Formed in Linköping in 2006, [1] [2] the band first gained attention with their 2010 three-track demo, followed by the 7-inch vinyl " Elizabeth " and their debut album, Opus Eponymous.

In 2011, Gustaf Lindström decided not to continue with Ghost, and was replaced by Rikard Ottoson on bass. This also saw the addition of Mauro Rubino on keyboards, as before they were played from backing tracks.
