By the events of Shi ni Itaru Aka, One has become hardened, independent, very willing to kill, and mostly apathetic towards the behavior of his companion Nero. Most of this is driven by his need to redeem himself for creating the Cult of Watchers and the Red Eye disease.

Unsure about what she desired, One decided to create her own disciple by using one of her ribs in a form almost identical to herself, thus creating her "twin" brother. Testing his powers, One and her brother depart to fight off the remnant soldiers of the lords.
