After a handful of largely forgettable romcoms, it was this sharp satire that finally afforded Jennifer Aniston the chance to put Friends behind her for good. Written by Mike White and directed by Miguel Arteta (the duo behind Chuck & Buck), The Good Girl is a prickly portrait of millennial malaise.
Jennifer Aniston gets out of her "Friends" persona and proves that given the right vehicle she can deliver, as she does here. She's a good girl and wants to do good by the different men around her. She's married to John C. Rilley, in a marriage that has gone sour. You wonder how this pair got together in the first place.
