hotmail.com is nowadays just one of several aliases for outlook.live.com, so that's where you'd expect to end up. Just sign in with your Hotmail email address and password when you get there. Answer. Open the Mail applet in Control Panel. Click the Email Accounts button. Select your Hotmail account and remove it. Now add it back in again, specifying only your address and password. Allow Outlook to configure the account automatically. It should come back and work properly.
