I would suggest movies as well but witches are usually corny and kid friendly outside of Blair witch part 1 and Lords of Salem. I guess the craft is ok. But Something more 1500s-1600s, American setting or otherwise.

People wearing star pendants as part of their costume as some kind of mage or sorcerer. People walking around in costumes with rotting flesh. Kids running around with toy machete's with fake blood.
