  1. 29 de abr. de 2020 · First of all, I'm starting from the assumption these sentences are the only ones correct: this/that kind of thing -- when we are talking about one kind (of that thing) these/those kinds of things -- when we are talking about several kinds (of such things) I've read dozen of threads about this question but it seems to me it doesn't exist any rules.

  2. 30 de dic. de 2006 · Dec 30, 2006. #5. I agree. I see no difference between "these" and "those" unless, of course, you are going to list new actions that can be done. 3. 8 de abr. de 2006 · There is some debate about why English got rid of a lot of the grammar it used to have. Some say that English is a creole, that it's the product of a pidgin language, and that's why it's so simple. Quick tip 2: the subject can never be in a prepostional phrase (so get rid of "of things.") That means what's left is "a lot" as the subject and "are" as the verb. Correct answer: There are a lot of things ...

  9. 28 de jun. de 2018 · Jun 28, 2018. #2. "All these evidences of refinement and respectability". means "All these things, that were each evidence of refinement and respectability". I think this use, while not common, is not rare. It is certainly not "incorrect". Let me research a bit. I google-search [an evidence] and found a conversation at stackexchange, asking the ...
