CATS (2019) is one of the most bizarre films of the modern era and the internet sure let it know that was the case. However, I genuinely think that the film isn't that bad. For starters, the main complaint outside of the films visuals is that there was no story or character.
Cats is an interesting phenomenon. It went from a star-studded, highly anticipated concept to the most reviled film of the year after the release of a single trailer. After the first trailer revealed the unsettling creatures that would be the center of the film, the internet took hold and began to ride the wave of morbid anticipation.
It's rare to find something so clearly striking and different in a movies effects. The dancing is amazing to watch! They really do walk and prance like cats with some top notch ballet and hip hop mixed in. The singing performances are great.
