17 de abr. de 2024 · For AMD or Intel GPUs, setting the environment variable DRI_PRIME=1 should do the job. For nVidia GPUs, you additionally need __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia, __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1, and __VK_LAYER_NV_optimus=NVIDIA_only.
18 de ago. de 2024 · Without switcheroo, Steam recognized my Radeon iGPU. Start a graphics intensive game and see if it is lagging. It was in my case. Install Switcheroo & enable it. Make sure beforehand that you have up-to-date GPU drivers. sudo pacman -Syu switcheroo-control; sudo systemctl enable switcheroo-control.service; Restart your computer
GNOME developer Bastien Nocera has been cleaning up the switcheroo-control code so it doesn't rely upon the Linux kernel's VGA_Switcheroo, support more than two GPUs, and better handling of the main/secondary handling. For end-users the big addition is support for the NVIDIA proprietary driver.
Gnome has now a very nice GPU Offloading with Switcheroo Control - Is there some implementation for KDE? This is great news for Gnome users with Nvidia Hybrid Cards. Some details:
