Gudrid fue esposa de Thorvald, hermano menor de Leif Ericson. Tras la muerte de Thorval en Vinland, la esposa de Leif arregla un matrimonio para ella con Sigurd, el heredero de Halfdan. Gudrid no está feliz con su matrimonio e intenta fugarse antes de la boda, pero le es imposible y termina casándose.
Gudrid becomes Thorfinn's travelling companion when he sets off for Greece to secure funding for his expedition to Vinland. They later marry at some point during their travels to or back from Greece. Gudrid travels with Thorfinn to found Vinland, along with their friends and their adopted son, Karli.
12 de feb. de 2023 · Thorfinn’s wife, Gudrid, is his only love interest in the Vinland Saga. She fled from an arranged marriage and joined Thorfinn on his journey to Vinland. Their romance started with Gudrid’s confession in chapter 160 of the manga.
She appears in the Saga of Erik the Red and the Saga of the Greenlanders, known collectively as the Vinland sagas. She and her husband Thorfinn Karlsefni led an expedition to Vinland where their son Snorri Thorfinnsson was born, the first known European birth in the Americas (outside of Greenland ).
